As researchers and scholars, we can demonstrate our commitment to scholarly integrity by conducting research in ways that reflect the shared values of honesty, accountability, openness and fairness.
As the nature of research changes and evolves, we may encounter situations that are new to us, or that challenge us in new ways. Regardless of the nature in which we are engaged in research, we should commit to frequently reflecting on our research practices and engage in conversations about the ethical dimensions of research conduct that apply to our current situations.
We are responsible to develop an awareness of our blind spots, engaging in ongoing development and learning, and conducting our research to the highest standards of scholarly integrity, ethics and rigour.
The following guides aim to expand upon discussions of scholarly integrity at the University of British Columbia. This list is non-exhaustive and other topics suggested by members of our research community may be developed in the future.
